As Project Lead, Angela guided a team of designers and developers through the full design process for Trojan Odyssey, a pixel-art game built around the USC campus — from early ideation and world-building through to final creation.
She kept the team on track using agile project management tools like Asana, checking in on timelines and individual progress throughout development, and used Aseprite to help shape the game's pixel art direction across the campus map and in-game scenes.
Beyond the game itself, she also led the creation of branding and marketing materials for Trojan Odyssey, including a physical sticker line.
Early hand-drawn mapping of the USC campus into game zones — Frat Row, the Village, Marshall, Roski, Dornsife, and a "boss battle" against UCLA and then-president Carol Folt.
Team brainstorming on programs, genre, mechanics, narrative direction, and art style — including a fetch-quest concept set in an enchanted version of USC, and a survey of pixel art references (Stardew Valley, Celeste, Shovel Knight, Enter the Gungeon, Zelda: Minish Cap) used to settle on the game's visual style.
The isometric campus map, explored in two color directions before settling on a final palette.
Scenes from gameplay, including a USC Marshall-themed level and a Hollywood-and-study-abroad-themed level.
Live gameplay footage, including a clip from the project's demo day presentation walking through the map iterations.
Sticker packs designed as marketing and promotional material for the game's launch.
